Yes, the rumors are right! We’re working on a new version of niji・journey!
One of the most important tasks of the niji project is the continued improvement of the image quality of girls with cat ears. Thus, let us begin niji’s new version preview with this uniquely interesting image I encountered while engaged in this honorable research last night.
It appears to be a cat-eared maid seductively showing you her secret human ear.

Joking aside, Midjourney V5 brings some spectacular improvements to the table in terms of realistic rendering and the coherency of hands. We are very excited about incorporating those improvements into niji with a uniquely anime flair.

In this next iteration of niji, we focused more on tuning a pleasing and unique anime style. To that end, we fused together a luxurious, academic approach to rendering with a more simplified, conceptual approach to shape and silhouette design.
The resulting compositions are easier to read at a glance, more coherent, and richer in information.

My personal favorites from the new model are these small, fleeting moments it imbues with gravitas and emotion, using the magic of light and color.

There is currently no ETA for new version of niji. We will announce a date closer to launch.
You don’t need to do anything special to acquire this new version. The transition will happen automatically.
The current version of niji will remain available after the new version launches.
