Final Lesson: Touch Grass!
Welcome to the final installment of niji academy! You’ve done well following the lessons so far. This is the last lecture. It’s about how to find your own style.

Study 7: 5.5 Hour Drawing
For our final project, you will be taking the pieces you’ve been building all semester, and turning it into a simple finished painting!
Study 6: Character Turnaround
In this study, you’ll be doing a character turnaround by using a character shape reference and a motif reference.
Lesson 6: Jesus (Fanart)
One of the core tenents of this class is that you should only draw pictures you like. It takes so long to learn how to draw well, you need a special kind of fervor and zealotry to fuel you.
Study 5: Simple Lighting
This study combines what we practiced in studies 2 and 3 together! Today, we’ll be combining an ambient occlusion map with a color key.

Lesson 4: The Multiple Dimensions (of Art)
For the next part of this course, we will teach you how to use those measurements to compose your own drawings.

From this exercise forward, you’ll be practicing how to remix and rearrange the elements you have identified, to make something that is truly unique.
Lesson 3: Color (The Greatest Lie)
As we will revisit time and time again in this course: art is not about reality, it’s about telling the Truth.
Study 3: Color Key
The goal of this study is to produce a color key: an atmospheric color map of a drawing.
Lesson 2: The Terminator (Line)

Study 2: Notan
"Notan" is a Japanese word for "light-dark harmony." Artists use "notan studies" to try out different arrangements of light and dark in a painting without worrying about colors, textures, or small details.
