Back when we had published our very first devlog in 🌹 The Study of Aesthetics, we received a lot of positive reader response on our style research.

And also, a surprising number of responses to the tune of, “Yea, that’s great, but WOW how do we get this picture of hatsune miku?!”

Now you can! You can make it as weird, as cute, as beautiful, as horrible, as elegant, as destructive, as healing as your heart’s desire.

Follow these simple steps to mix your own personalized style cocktail 🍸

Instructions

Step 1: In discord, type in /tune , followed by your prompt

Important: personalized styles will not apply the same way to every prompt, so you must start with the prompt you wish to see.

Step 2: Select the number of pictures that you’d like to tune over

A larger number will cost more hours and take longer to run. In exchange, you’ll be able to see more pictures to tune over.

Personally, I recommend using the smaller quiz to find the general direction that you are going for first, and then opening up the larger quiz to make some finer adjustments.

Step 3: You will be presented with a list of pairs: select the pictures you like

Use the selector to pick either the left, right or middle. This is what gets added to your style.

Selecting the middle means neither the left or right choice will get added into your mix.

A note on picking

You don’t have to pick a lot of pictures to make a good style! Just like a good cocktail, there’s a great elegance in simplicity.

The advantage of picking a few pictures

Picking a smaller amount of pictures will result in a more unique cocktail. This means that the style will work over a smaller set of subject matter, but will probably be more distinct

Selecting many pictures will create a more robust cocktail. This means that the style will work over a larger set of subject matter, but will probably be less distinct.

Step 4: Using your style

You’ll see a code at the bottom of the page. You should input this as a --style flag to apply it.

If you are using the mj bot

Be sure to include --niji 5 at the end of your prompt, or else you’ll be getting a different style. nj and mj have their own style tuners (Wow! 256 combined knobs for you to play with! we’re such a value product!), so make very sure you are using the style you mean to use!
